Zebra Cake

Ingredients
- 5 eggs (size M)
- 250 g sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- rum flavoring
- 125 ml lukewarm water
- 250 ml cooking oil
- 375 g flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 150 g sifted powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp rum
- 3 tbsp water

Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites stiffly. Whisk the yolks, sugar and vanilla sugar with a hand mixer until frothy. Stir in the flavoring, water and oil. Mix flour and baking powder, sift and gradually fold into the mixture. Fold in the beaten egg whites. Divide the batter into two portions. Stir cocoa into one portion.

Grease a springform pan and dust it with breadcrumbs. Spoon 2 tablespoons of light batter into the center of the pan, then add 2 tablespoons of dark batter on top; repeat until all batter is used (do not smooth). Bake in a preheated oven at 180–200 °C (gas: level 3–4, fan: 160–180 °C) for 45–60 minutes. Let cool.

Whisk powdered sugar with rum and water to make a glaze and brush the cake with it.
