Ingredients
- 2 kg pears
- 2 lemons (juice)
- 3 vanilla beans
- 500 g candied sugar
- 400 ml whisky
Instructions
-
1.
Wash, peel, core the pears and slice the flesh into thin strips. Juice the lemons and mix the lemon juice with the pear strips.
-
2.
Split the vanilla beans lengthwise and cut them into about 4 cm pieces. Add the pear slices and vanilla to a pot and pour enough water over them so that the pears are just covered. Simmer gently for about 5 minutes until the pears soften.
-
3.
Remove the pears and vanilla with a slotted spoon and let cool slightly. Then fill the jars with the pears, vanilla, and candied sugar. Bring the remaining water to a boil and pour it hot over the pears. Fill the jars almost to the brim with whisky.
