Ingredients
- 200 g ground walnut kernels
- 250 g soft butter
- 3 eggs
- 250 g forest honey
- 1 vanilla bean, split
- 200 g Flour
- 1 large apple
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 packet baking powder
- 100 ml cream sherry
- 50 g cake glaze
- 50 g milk
- 10 beautiful walnut kernel halves (for decoration)
- 2 tsp chopped pistachios
Instructions

Peel, quarter, core and grate the apple, immediately mix with lemon juice. Cream the butter and gradually stir in eggs, honey and vanilla.

Mix flour with baking powder and walnuts and fold into the butter mixture, then add cream sherry and apple grates.

Pour dough into a greased loaf pan. Bake in preheated oven at 175 °C (160 °C fan) for about 1 h 15 min. If the cake darkens, cover with foil.

Remove and let cool slightly, then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling.

Prepare cake glaze according to package instructions, coat the cake, and garnish with walnuts and pistachios; allow to set.
