Walnut Brownies
Our Spoonsparrow brownies with walnuts make chocolate lovers’ hearts beat faster!
Ingredients
- 80 g softened butter
- 80 g whole cane sugar
- 1 Vanilla bean
- 2 Eggs
- 100 g dark chocolate
- 150 g Spelt flour Type 1050
- 20 g cocoa powder
- 0.5 tsp Baking powder
- Salt
- 100 g walnuts

Coarsely chop the chocolate and melt it over a double boiler or in microwave intervals, then set aside. Beat butter and whole cane sugar with an electric mixer until fluffy. Split the vanilla bean lengthwise, scrape out the seeds with a knife and fold into the mixture.

Add the eggs and beat again until frothy. Then fold in the melted chocolate. Add spelt flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt; mix to a smooth batter. Roughly chop walnuts and fold them into the batter.

Pour the batter into a parchment‑lined pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas: level 2–3) for about 40 minutes.

Remove the walnut brownies from the oven and let them cool. Then cut into pieces, dust with cocoa powder if desired, and serve.
