Ingredients

  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 125 g softened butter
  • 150 g brown sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 100 g flour
  • 0.5 tsp Baking powder
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp genuine bourbon vanilla
  • 150 g almond sticks
  • fat (for the baking pan)
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

    Coarsely chop the chocolate and melt it in a double boiler with frequent stirring, then set aside. In a bowl beat butter and brown sugar until creamy using an electric mixer. Add the eggs and then the melted chocolate, mixing well. Preheat the oven to 200 °C (Oven/under‑oven heat).

    Sift flour with baking powder, a pinch of salt, and vanilla. Fold the almonds into the batter. Grease the baking pan. Pour the batter into the pan and bake for about 30–40 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Transfer to a rack and let cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar before serving and cut into pieces.
