Ingredients

  • 6 whole wheat buns (halved)
  • 300 g smoked salmon
  • 3 tbsp sour cream
  • Salt
  • white pepper (freshly ground)
  • lemons
  • 1 tsp finely chopped dill leaves
  • 1 hard‑boiled egg
  • 300 g canned tuna (in water), drained
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 4 pickled herring fillets
  • 2 pickles

Instructions

    Cut three thin slices from the well‑chilled smoked salmon, chop the remainder into coarse pieces and blend with sour cream, salt, pepper, dill, and lemon zest in a blender.

    Spread a generous layer of the salmon mousse on each bun half and top with one slice of egg and salmon.

    Coarsely break up the tuna, halve the onion and cut into thin rings.

    Arrange the tuna and onion rings decoratively on four bun halves.

    Dice the pickles finely.

    Cut the herring fillets into coarse pieces and arrange them with pickle cubes on four bun halves for a decorative finish.
