Valentine's Day Muffins

Spoonsparrow muffins: moist and super chocolatey – perfect to surprise your loved one.

Ingredients

  • 75 g dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
  • 100 g butter
  • 200 ml Milk (3.5% fat)
  • 1 egg
  • 100 ml sour cream
  • 100 g sugar
  • 200 g Flour
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 50 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

    Chop dark chocolate into small pieces with a knife. Melt butter in a saucepan, add chocolate and stir until melted. Remove from heat.

    Whisk milk, egg, sour cream and sugar with an electric mixer. In a bowl mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, cocoa and salt well. Add the milk mixture and chocolate butter, stirring with a wooden spoon until smooth.

    Fill silicone molds with batter and bake chocolate muffins in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas: level 2–3) on the middle rack for 20–25 minutes. Remove and cool.

    For decoration whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice into a thick glaze. Fill a piping bag and decorate the muffins as desired. Serve Valentine’s Day muffins.
