Ingredients
- 2 small cans of diced tomatoes (or 800 g fresh peeled and diced very ripe tomatoes)
- Salt
- Pepper (freshly ground)
- fresh nutmeg
- sugar
- 2 Garlic cloves
- olive oil
- 10 basil leaves
Instructions

Peel the garlic. Heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil and sauté the garlic until translucent. Add the tomatoes, seasoning with 2 teaspoons sugar, salt, pepper, and fresh nutmeg.

Bring to a quick boil, then cover and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.
