Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • 300 g onions
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 kg tomatoes
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp vinegar essence
  • 125 ml water
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • white pepper (from grinder)

Instructions

    Peel and dice the onions finely.

    Heat the oil in a pot, then let the onions become translucent.

  3. 3.

    Briefly blanch the tomatoes, shock them, peel and roughly chop. Add them with the other ingredients to the pot with the onions.

    Stir until boiling, then simmer gently over medium heat while stirring frequently for about 1 hour.

    Blend the mixture, bring it back to a boil, then reduce again and let it thicken for another 10 minutes. Season to taste. If desired, fill carefully cleaned bottles and seal tightly.
