Strawberry Vanilla Jam
Spoonsparrow Strawberry-Vanilla jam: tastes heavenly fruity and impresses with a fine note of vanilla – and orange!
Ingredients
- 2 kg strawberries
- 1.25 kg 2:1 gelatin sugar
- 500 ml orange juice
- 2 Vanilla Beans

Wash, clean strawberries, cut in halves or quarters depending on size, and combine with gelatin sugar in a pot. Stir and let sit for about 1 hour.

Meanwhile boil jars for about 10 minutes in a large pot of hot water. Remove jars from water and place upside down on clean kitchen towels to cool.

Slice vanilla beans and scrape out the seeds. Add orange juice, vanilla seeds, and beans to the strawberries. Stir and simmer for 3–4 minutes while bubbling, skimming off foam. Then remove vanilla beans again.

Invert jar lids, using a metal measuring cup or ladle and an insertion ring, pour the very hot strawberry-vanilla jam into the jars, clean edges, seal immediately, and place upside down. After about 5 minutes the jars can be turned upright.
