Ingredients

  • 500 g flour
  • 250 g room-temperature butter
  • 175 g sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 200 ml milk
  • 250 g strawberries
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • butter (for the springform)
  • Flour (for the springform)

Instructions

    Beat butter, sugar and salt until fluffy. Add eggs and stir until light and creamy. Mix flour and baking powder together and add to the mixture along with milk, stirring well. If the batter is not soft enough, add a little more milk. Grease a springform pan with butter and dust it with flour.

    Preheat the oven to 160°C fan. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top. Wash, trim and pat dry the strawberries. Distribute them over the batter and bake in the hot oven for about 50-60 minutes until golden yellow (test with a toothpick). Remove from the oven, let cool in the pan. Release from the pan and serve dusted with powdered sugar.
