Ingredients

  • 200 g Flour
  • 100 g peeled, ground almonds
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 egg
  • 200 g butter
  • flour (for the work surface)
  • 150 g strawberry jam

Instructions

    Mix the flour with the almonds, sugar and salt for the dough, sift onto the work surface, make a well in the middle, crack the egg into it and spread the butter in small pieces around the well. Quickly knead everything by hand into a smooth dough, shape it into a ball and wrap it in cling film; refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with top and bottom heat.

    Roll out the dough on a floured surface about 0.4 cm thick and cut circles roughly 3 cm in diameter. From half of the circles cut a small heart shape in the center, place the dough circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Knead the remaining dough together, roll it out again and cut more circles. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes. Remove and lift the cookies off the sheet with the parchment paper. Let cool.

    Spread the fully baked cookies with slightly warmed jam and cover them with a matching counterpart. Press lightly and let dry.
