Fruit Crumble
Warm fruit crumble with figs and apples – a true autumn favorite. Try it now!
Ingredients
- 4 apples
- 50 g dried figs
- 60 g brown sugar
- 60 g melted butter
- 100 ml apple juice
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 80 g digestive biscuits
- 40 g chopped almonds (peeled)

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (160 °C fan; gas: level 2–3). Grease four small baking dishes if needed.

Peel, quarter, core and dice the apples. Finely chop the figs. Sauté both with 1 tbsp brown sugar and 1 tbsp butter in a pan over medium heat for a short time. Add apple juice and lemon juice and simmer gently until soft, about 10 minutes. Stir in cinnamon and pour the mixture into the prepared dishes.

Grind the digestive biscuits in a food processor or blender until fine. Mix with the almonds, remaining brown sugar and remaining butter. Spread this topping over the apples and bake in the oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown.

Serve the fruit crumble fresh from the oven or warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream.
