Ingredients

  • 2 large celery stalks
  • 1 ripe tomato
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp finely chopped basil
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • Salt
  • freshly ground white pepper

Instructions

    Wash the celery stalks and cut them into small pieces. Rinse the tomato with hot water, then cool it down and peel it. Cut the tomato in half, remove the seeds, and dice the flesh.

    Heat the oil in a large pan. Add the celery, sauté briefly, turning several times.

    Reduce the heat so that the vegetables do not release more liquid, while shaking the pan frequently.

    After about 8 minutes add the tomato, basil, and peeled crushed garlic. Continue steaming the celery until it is cooked but still firm. Season with salt and pepper.
