Spicy Orange Punch

A spicy orange punch from Spoonsparrow. Alcohol-free punch is not just for kids; this version impresses with a warm, aromatic flavor.

Ingredients

  • 3 organic oranges
  • 4 juice oranges
  • 20 g Ginger
  • 10 g turmeric root
  • 1 tsp peppercorns
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 6 sprigs rosemary
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp clove powder
  • 2 tea bags of yarrow

Instructions

    Wash the orange, dry rub it and grate the peel from two pieces. Juice together with the juice oranges.

    Wash ginger and turmeric and cut into small cubes. Break peppercorns and cardamom with a knife edge. Wash rosemary and shake dry.

    Add olive oil to a hot pot, roast ginger, turmeric, orange zest, 2 rosemary sprigs and clove powder over medium heat for about 1 minute.

    Deglaze with 300 ml water and add the tea bags. Simmer gently for about 15 minutes.

    Strain through a fine sieve, return the liquid to the pot, add the freshly squeezed juice and warm gently on low heat without boiling.

    Slice the remaining orange into rounds and place each slice with a rosemary sprig in a punch glass or cup, pour over the punch and serve hot.
