Try the pear juice from Spoonsparrow as a tasty drink for hot days.

Ingredients

  • 6 pears
  • 50 g honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 1 Organic lemon

Instructions

  1. 1.

Wash five pears, quarter them, remove the core and roughly dice. Place in a pot with honey, cinnamon stick, split vanilla pod and 1 l water. Cut off the lemon peel and squeeze out the juice. Add both to the pot and bring to a boil. Simmer over low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. 2.

Strain through a fine cloth and let the liquid drain. Do not press the fruit so the juice stays clearer. Set aside the vanilla pod for garnish if desired. Let the juice cool.

  3. 3.

Wash the remaining pear, quarter it, core it and cut into thin slices. Distribute over glasses with vanilla pod as desired and pour about half of the pear juice into each glass. Top up with cold still or sparkling mineral water and serve.
