Ingredients

  • 300 ml dry white wine (Riesling)
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 1 star anise
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 untreated lemon (juice)
  • 4 ripe pears (e.g., Williams Christ)

Instructions

    Bring the white wine with about 400 ml water, sugar, spices and lemon juice to a boil. Peel the pears, cut them in half lengthwise and remove the core with an apple corer.

    Place the pears in prepared jars and pour the hot liquid over them until they are fully covered. Seal the jars tightly and let them cool.
