  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1 star anise
  • 0.5 cinnamon stick
  • 1 untreated lemon (zest and juice)
  • 4 pears (e.g., Williams Christ)

Instructions

    Bring the white wine with about 200 ml water, sugar, spices, lemon zest, and lemon juice to a boil.

    Peel the pears, remove the core using a melon baller from the bottom, and place the pears in the liquid so that all are covered.

    Boil until cooked; if needed, simmer a little longer depending on pear firmness. Cover and let cool.
