Spaghetti with Meatballs and Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 onions
- 2 Garlic cloves
- olive oil
- 600 g ground beef
- 1 egg
- breadcrumbs
- Salt
- Pepper (freshly ground)
- 2 red bell peppers
- 1 tsp hot paprika powder
- 400 g diced tomatoes (canned)
- 100 ml beef broth
- 400 g spaghetti
- Cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley

Peel and finely chop the onions and garlic. Sauté half in 1 tbsp olive oil, then mix with ground beef and egg in a bowl, adding enough breadcrumbs to make the mixture workable. Season with salt and pepper, form small balls. Brown the meatballs in 2 tbsp hot oil all around, remove and set aside.

Wash, halve, deseed, and roughly cube the bell peppers. Sauté the remaining onions and garlic in 2 tbsp hot oil, then add the peppers, paprika powder, and tomatoes. Pour in the beef broth and simmer gently for about 4-5 minutes. Add the meatballs back in, cover, and let them cook gently for another 5 minutes.

Cook the spaghetti in boiling salted water until al dente, drain, and arrange on plates. Season the sauce with salt and cayenne pepper, then pour over the spaghetti. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
