We love scones! Try making these delicious scones à la Spoonsparrow.

Ingredients

  • 225 g flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g sugar
  • 150 ml milk
  • flour (for working)
  • honey (for serving)

Instructions

    In a mixing bowl combine the flour and baking powder. Cut the butter into cubes and rub it with the flour-baking powder mixture until crumbly. Mix in the sugar and form a well in the center. Pour in the milk and stir. On a floured surface knead the dough by hand until smooth, adding more flour or milk as needed so it no longer sticks to your hands.

    Preheat the oven to 200 °C fan. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Divide the dough into 12 pieces and roll each into a round bun. Place them on the tray with some space between, bake for 10–12 minutes (check with a skewer).

    When the buns are puffed and golden brown, remove from the oven and cool on a rack. Serve warm or at room temperature, drizzled with honey if desired.
