Ingredients
- 1 Egg white
- Salt
- 60 g marzipan base
- 100 g ground poppy seeds
- 40 g powdered sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 4 apples (e.g., Jonagold)
- 80 g almond sticks
- butter (for the pan)
- 2 tbsp liquid butter
Instructions
-
1.
Preheat the oven to 200°C with top and bottom heat.
-
2.
Beat the egg white with a pinch of salt until not fully stiff. Cut the marzipan base into small pieces. Knead with poppy seeds, powdered sugar, and cinnamon. Then fold in the egg white or knead further.
-
3.
Wash, dry, and use an apple corer to remove the core (you may leave a little stem so it stands). Skewer the apples all around with almond sticks so they look like small hedgehogs. Fill them with the poppy seed mixture and place in a greased baking dish. Drizzle with some butter and bake for about 30 minutes.
