Pickled Grapes

Ingredients

  • 1 kg blue grapes (seedless if desired)
  • 2 cm fresh ginger
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 0.5 TL orange zest
  • 100 g sugar
  • 400 ml light red wine
  • 100 ml Grappa

Instructions

    Rinse the grapes, remove stems and arrange them in prepared jars.

    Peel the ginger and slice it thinly. Break the cinnamon into pieces and combine with orange zest, ginger, sugar, 100 ml water and the wine in a pot. Bring to a brief boil while stirring, then remove from heat and add the Grappa. Pour over the grapes so they are covered, then seal the jars immediately.

    Let the mixture mature for at least five days before serving.
