- 1 untreated lemon
- 0.75 l red wine
- 150 g sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 8 pears (e.g., Williams Christ)

Wash the lemon hot, pat dry, slice and bring to a boil with the red wine, sugar, and cinnamon stick. Simmer gently for 10 minutes. Peel the pears and cut out the core from below with a sharp knife.

Remove the cinnamon stick and lemon slices from the wine and place the pears in the liquid. Pour wine over them and simmer covered on low heat for about 10 minutes. Let cool in the liquid. Arrange on plates and drizzle with the sauce before serving.
