Pasta with Meatballs and Tomato Sauce

Pasta with meatballs and tomato sauce from Spoonsparrow tastes good for the whole family again and again.
Ingredients
- 2 onions
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large can tomatoes (800 g drained weight)
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 0.5 tsp Sugar
- 400 g minced meat
- 4 Tbsp breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp parmesan (freshly grated)
- 2 tbsp mixed Italian herbs (finely chopped)
- 400 g spaghetti
- Salt
- pepper (ground)
Instructions

Peel and dice onions and garlic, sauté in 2 tbsp hot oil. Remove half. Add tomato paste and tomatoes with liquid to the remaining oil, mash with a potato masher, simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes. Season tomato sauce with salt, pepper and sugar.

Mix minced meat, remaining sautéed onions and garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, parmesan and herbs; season with salt and pepper. With wet hands form small balls. Brown in the remaining hot oil all sides. Place in tomato sauce and let cook for about 10 minutes.

Meanwhile boil pasta in plenty of salted water until al dente. Plate pasta with meatballs and tomato sauce and serve.
