Ingredients

  • 400 g pre‑cooked chestnuts (vacuum sealed)
  • 100 g dried figs
  • 2 shallots
  • 1 handful parsley
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 150 g ground beef
  • 100 g sultanas
  • 100 ml port wine
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

    Rinse the chestnuts and drain well. Finely chop the figs. Peel and finely dice the shallots. Rinse the parsley, shake dry, strip leaves and chop.

    Sauté the shallots briefly in hot butter. Add the ground beef and cook together for about 5 minutes. Stir in the figs, chestnuts, half of the parsley, and sultanas. Pour in the port wine, season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, cover, and let simmer gently for about 30 minutes.

    Finally fold in the remaining parsley carefully, as the chestnuts may crumble, and taste to adjust seasoning.
