A fresh orange jelly recipe featuring bright citrus flavors and a delicate texture.
Ingredients
- 1-2 untreated oranges
- 800 ml freshly squeezed unsweetened orange juice
- 150 ml Cointreau
- 500 g gelatin sugar (3:1)
Instructions
-
1.
Wash the untreated oranges thoroughly, peel them very thinly, then cut the peel into fine strips. Squeeze the oranges and add the juice to 800 ml of liquid.
-
2.
Place the orange juice and peel in a saucepan, add the gelatin sugar, and let steep for about 1 hour. Stir constantly over high heat until boiling, then simmer vigorously for about 3 minutes while stirring; remove from heat.
-
3.
Skim off foam, stir in Cointreau, and immediately fill prepared glasses to the brim. Seal with twist-off lids, invert, and leave on the lid for about 5 minutes. Flip again so the peel distributes evenly, turning occasionally during cooling.
