Ingredients

  • 500 g red onions
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 5 tbsp brown sugar
  • 60 ml balsamic vinegar
  • 100 ml dry red wine

Instructions

    Peel the onions and cut them into thin slivers. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the onions until translucent.

    Sprinkle with sugar and let caramelize. Deglaze with vinegar and wine, then simmer over low heat for about 25 minutes.

    Transfer to jars and allow to cool. Pairs well with roasted meats.
