Oatmeal Apple Bars

On the go or in between meals: With the oatmeal apple bars from Spoonsparrow you always have a tasty and healthy snack ready!

Ingredients

  • 70 g puffed amaranth
  • 100 g tender rolled oats
  • 50 g sesame seeds
  • 50 g ground flaxseed
  • 50 g shredded coconut
  • 50 g ground almonds
  • 1 tbsp carob powder
  • 50 g apple slices
  • 50 g dried pears
  • 3 almond slivers

Instructions

    Mix the amaranth, oats, sesame, flaxseed, coconut, almonds and carob in a bowl. Chop the apple slices and pears into small pieces and fold them in. Gradually stir in 150-200 ml lukewarm water in small amounts, mixing well before adding more to achieve a firm but not too soft dough.

    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) fan‑forced. Press the oat mixture flat onto the sheet and cut into bars with a knife. Sprinkle almond slivers on top and bake for about 25 minutes until lightly golden brown. Let cool briefly, then cut while still warm. Cool completely before storing airtight.
