New Year’s Treats
Spoonsparrow treats for New Year’s Eve: What would a party be without sweet snacks to munch, nibble and have fun?
Ingredients
- 250 g spelt flour Type 1050
- 175 g ground almonds
- 2 Eggs
- 90 g honey
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- 1 Organic lemon
- 120 g raisins
- 30 g dark chocolate (70% cocoa)

Combine flour, 125 g almonds, eggs, 60 g honey and coconut oil in a bowl. Rinse the lemon hot, pat dry and grate finely. Halve the lemon and squeeze out the juice. Add 1 tsp lemon zest and 1 tbsp lemon juice to the flour mixture. Knead quickly into a smooth shortcrust dough. Wrap in cling film and chill for about 1 hour.

Oil metal tin-shaped molds for the luck bags. Cut circles from the dough, quarter them and wrap around each bag. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cut figures from the remaining dough. Moisten the dough bags with a little water and press the figures onto them. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas 2–3) for about 15 minutes. Remove, take out of the mold and let cool. Cut circles from parchment paper, score lightly. Wrap small gifts and place them into the bags.

For the luck spirals oil canneloni noodles and wrap thin long dough strips around them. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas 2–3) for about 15 minutes. After baking, remove the noodles, insert oracle slips into the spirals and decorate with parchment paper.

Soak raisins in 2 tbsp water. Grate chocolate. Mix soaked raisins with remaining almonds, chocolate and 2 tbsp honey finely.

For the luck letters roll out dough thinly and cut squares. Place 1 tsp filling in the center of each square, fold into a letter shape and seal with dough figures. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas 2–3) for about 15 minutes. Remove and decorate with paper chain figures.

Roll out dough and cut pig shapes. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas 2–3) for about 12 minutes until golden brown. Remove, cool and tie oracle sayings over them with ribbon.
