Ingredients

  • 1 sprig thyme
  • 500 g small brown button mushrooms
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (20 g)
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 0.5 tsp brown sugar
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 8 slices white bread
  • coarse Sea salt

Instructions

    Wash the thyme, shake dry and pluck off the leaves. Clean the mushrooms and slice them thinly. Peel the garlic and finely chop it. Add oil to a hot pan and sauté the garlic over medium heat.

    Add the mushrooms and cook while stirring for 3–4 minutes. Deglaze with vinegar, sprinkle brown sugar and continue cooking for another 3–4 minutes until the balsamic is almost fully reduced. Season with salt and pepper.

    Toast the bread slices in a toaster. Spread the mushroom mixture on the toasted bread. Sprinkle thyme and sea salt over the toast before serving.
