Ingredients
- butter (for the molds)
- Flour (for the molds)
- 2 apples (e.g., Boskop)
- 3 tsp lemon juice
- 2 Eggs
- 30 g sugar
- 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch gingerbread spice
- Salt
- 2 tsp almond liqueur
- 0.5 tsp lemon zest
- 60 g flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 50 g ground almonds
- powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200°C with fan and top heat. Grease the Gugelhupf molds and dust them with flour.

Peel, quarter, core, finely grate the apples and mix with lemon juice.

Whisk the eggs with sugar, vanilla sugar, spice, a pinch of salt, liqueur, and lemon zest until frothy.

Sift the flour with baking powder over the egg mixture and fold in. Then fold in ground almonds and apple grating.

Fill the prepared molds with batter and bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown.

Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, unmold onto a wire rack and allow to cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
