Ingredients

  • 450 g puff pastry (frozen)
  • 2 carrots
  • 3 spring onions
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 400 g mixed ground meat
  • 2 tbsp plant oil
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 0.5 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • Salt
  • pepper (ground)
  • flour (for the work surface)
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

  1. 1.

Let the puff pastry thaw while lying side by side.

  2. 2.

Preheat the oven to 200°C with upper and lower heat.

  3. 3.

Peel and grate the carrots finely. Wash, trim, dry, and dice the spring onions. Peel and finely chop the garlic, then brown the ground meat in a pan with hot oil until crumbly. Add the carrots, spring onions, and spices; season with salt and pepper and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Taste, remove from heat, and let cool.

  4. 4.

Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut squares (6x6 cm). Place a spoonful of the meat mixture on half of the squares, brush edges with water, fold squares diagonally into triangles. Press edges firmly with a fork and place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  5. 5.

Brush with egg yolk and bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown. Remove, cut the triangles in half, arrange on plates, and serve.
