The Marzipan Spritzgebäck from Spoonsparrow is a delightful, delicate cookie with a subtle marzipan flavor – perfect for festive occasions.

Ingredients

  • 175 g soft butter
  • 75 g powdered sugar (from cane sugar)
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 1 vanilla bean (aroma)
  • 1 Egg white
  • 75 g marzipan base
  • 200 g spelt flour
  • 25 g cornstarch

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan; gas: level 3). Line baking trays with parchment paper.

    Beat butter, powdered sugar, salt and vanilla aroma together. Add egg white and stir until the mixture turns light. Grate marzipan finely, then add it with flour and cornstarch to the butter mixture and fold in.

    Fill a piping bag fitted with a star tip of about 10 mm diameter. Pipe various shapes (e.g., rings or stars) onto the prepared tray as desired and bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes until golden yellow. Remove the cookies and cool on a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
