Ingredients

  • 500 g sheep cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp pecorino (freshly grated)
  • 1 bunch Wild garlic
  • 60 g breadcrumbs
  • oil (for frying)
  • 2 yellow bell peppers
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 1 lemon (juice)
  • 1 tsp oregano (dried)
  • olive oil
  • Salt
  • ground pepper

Instructions

  1. 1.

Wash the bell peppers, quarter them, remove seeds and place skin side up under the grill. Grill at 240°C for about 10 minutes until blistered. Remove, cover with a damp cloth and let cool. Then peel off the skins and lay in a shallow dish. Drizzle with lemon juice and olive oil, season with salt, pepper, add oregano and let marinate for about 2 hours.

  2. 2.

Combine cream cheese with egg and pecorino. Slice wild garlic into thin strips and mix into the cheese mixture (reserve 1 tbsp for garnish). Season with salt and pepper. The dough should be pliable; if not, add a few more breadcrumbs. Shape about 8 dumplings and roll them in breadcrumbs. Fry in hot oil for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

  3. 3.

Arrange the marinated peppers on a plate and place the dumplings on top. Sprinkle with wild garlic before serving.
