Ingredients

  • 1 bunch mixed herbs (e.g., parsley, arugula, chives, sorrel, basil)
  • 500 g cream cheese (plain)
  • 0.5 untreated lemon (juice)
  • Salt
  • ground pepper
  • 4 slices rye bread
  • olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

    Rinse the herbs, pat dry and finely chop 2/3 of them. Whisk the cream cheese with lemon juice and cream until smooth, season with salt and pepper, and serve on a plate.

    Slice the bread into strips and toast in a hot pan without fat until golden brown, remove, let cool, and serve alongside the cream cheese. Garnish with remaining herbs and drizzle olive oil. Sprinkle extra pepper before serving.
