Cold Melon Salad with Shrimp

A refreshing dish featuring fresh melon and shrimp, perfect for a light summer meal.
Ingredients
- 2 sugar melons
- 1 untreated lime (juiced)
- 50 ml white wine
- 150 ml grape juice
- Salt
- Cayenne pepper
- 300 g shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- chili powder
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves (peeled and crushed)
- 4 stalks lemongrass
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped mint
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped basil

Halve the melons, scrape out the seeds, and cut into 12 bite‑size cubes. Roughly cube the remaining melon flesh. Blend with lime juice, white wine, and grape juice; season with salt and cayenne pepper. Chill the mixture.

Wash and pat dry the shrimp, then season with salt, pepper, and chili powder. Sauté in a hot pan with olive oil and garlic for 3–5 minutes, turning occasionally. Skewer alternating shrimp and melon cubes on lemongrass sticks. Spoon the chilled salad into bowls, place a shrimp‑melon skewer on top of each, and sprinkle with mint and basil.
