Ingredients

  • 500 g sugar
  • 3 tsp vinegar
  • 4 apples (e.g., Golden Delicious)
  • 2 tbsp black sesame seeds

Instructions

    Spread some sugar evenly on a flat plate.

    Bring 80 ml water, the remaining sugar, and vinegar to a rapid boil in a heavy-bottomed pot; simmer until the thermometer reads 150°C.

    Peel, quarter, core, and cut the apples into strips.

    Remove the pot from heat immediately. Dip each apple strip into the syrup, turning and flipping until fully coated. Place on the sugared plate and let cool.

    Sprinkle with sesame seeds, allow to dry, then serve.
