- 4 onions
- 4 red bratwursts
- 2 tbsp Rapeseed oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- a pinch of sugar
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 4 slices country bread

Peel the onions, cut them lengthwise in half and slice into thin strips. Wash the bratwursts, pat dry and make several cross cuts. Heat the oil in a pan and brown the sausages over medium heat for 4-6 minutes, turning frequently.

Remove the sausages and keep warm. Add the onions to the pan with the sausage fat and cook over low to medium heat while stirring until lightly browned, seasoning with salt, pepper and sugar. Plate the sausages with the onions and serve with mustard and bread.
