Ingredients

  • 750 g mixed berries (e.g., red and black currants, blueberries, and blackberries)
  • 40 ml cassis (or orange juice)
  • 1 untreated orange (zest)
  • 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • soft butter (for greasing the baking dish)
  • 75 g hearty oats
  • 75 g brown sugar
  • 75 g flour
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 150 g liquid butter

Instructions

    Wash, rinse, pat dry the berries. Mix with cassis, orange zest and vanilla sugar, then pour into a greased baking dish.

    Preheat oven to 180 °C fan‑forced. Grease an oven tray.

    Combine oats, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Add butter and mix until crumbly. Sprinkle over the berries and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.

    Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then serve with yogurt or whipped cream if desired.
