Ingredients

  • 1 pack of Wan-Tan dough sheets (9x9 cm, Asian store, frozen)
  • 2 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 3 tsp grated lime zest
  • 2 medium bananas
  • 1 Egg white
  • 1 l oil (for frying)
  • 150 ml plum sauce (glass jar, Asian store)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Let the Wan Tan dough sheets thaw.

  2. 2.

Peel the bananas, cut into about 1.5 cm wide pieces and mix with ginger and lime zest.

  3. 3.

Place one banana piece on a dough sheet. Brush the edge of the sheet with lightly beaten egg white and press over the banana piece to seal.

  4. 4.

Heat oil in a wok to about 170°C (hot enough when bubbles rise from a wooden spoon stick) and fry the dough parcels in batches until golden brown. Serve the banana-dough parcels with plum sauce.

  5. 5.

(Optionally refreeze any remaining dough sheets for other uses)
