Ingredients

  • 800 g dried cod
  • 50 g flour
  • 4 cloves garlic (thinly sliced)
  • 8 tbsp oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 600 g small new potatoes
  • 500 g spinach leaves
  • 150 g black olives

Instructions

    Soak the dried cod in cold water for at least 24 hours. Pat dry, remove skin if needed, cut crosswise once, and coat with flour. Brown the fish with garlic in 8 tbsp hot oil all around, then place in a steamer basket. Bring about 2 cm of water to a boil in a suitable pot, set the steamer basket on top, and steam the cod for about 50–60 minutes.

    Meanwhile, hard‑boil the eggs. Wash the potatoes under running water, then cook them in salted water for about 25 minutes.

    Wash, rinse, dry, and sauté the spinach in remaining oil while stirring; season with salt and pepper.

    To serve, cut the steamed cod crosswise into thicker slices and arrange on a platter with sliced hard‑boiled eggs, potatoes, spinach, and olives.
