Ingredients

  • 1 ripe Avocado
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 small white onion
  • Salt
  • black pepper freshly ground
  • Tabasco
  • 4 sprigs basil
  • 12 slices multigrain baguette
  • 6 beautiful, ripe strawberries

Instructions

    Halve the avocado lengthwise, remove the pit and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. Immediately drizzle with lemon juice and mash well with a fork. Peel the garlic clove and squeeze it in. Peel the onion, dice finely and add. Season with salt, pepper and Tabasco to taste.

    Preheat the oven to 220 °C (428 °F).

    Wash, clean and halve the strawberries lengthwise, then slice them into thin leaf‑like pieces.

    Wash the basil, shake dry, roughly chop and fold into the avocado mash.

    Place baguette slices on a baking tray and roast in the hot oven for about 3–5 minutes.

    For serving spread the warm slices with the avocado mash and top with the strawberry slices.
