Ingredients

  • 5 large ripe apples
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 200 g Flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 250 ml beer (or white wine or milk)
  • 2 eggs (separated)
  • 2 tsp oil
  • butter for frying
  • cinnamon-sugar mix for sprinkling

Instructions

    Wash, peel the apples, use an apple corer to remove the core and slice into 1 cm thick rings. Drizzle immediately with lemon juice. Whisk the egg whites to stiff peaks and set aside. Mix flour, salt and beer into a thick batter.

    Stir in yolks and oil, then fold in the beaten egg whites. Dip each apple ring individually into the batter and fry until golden brown while floating. Drain briefly, sprinkle hot cinnamon-sugar, and serve.
