Ingredients

  • butter (for the baking pan)
  • flour (for the baking pan)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 250 g butter
  • 175 g sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod (aroma)
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • 250 g flour
  • 120 ml milk (as needed)
  • 150 g ground almond kernels
  • 75 g chocolate shavings
  • 100 g chopped almonds
  • 60 g sugar
  • 40 g butter (for roasting the almonds)
  • Liquid butter for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

    Grease and flour the pan. Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites with salt until stiff peaks form. Whisk the butter, sugar, and vanilla aroma until fluffy. Gradually fold in the yolks and continue beating until light and airy. Alternately stir in the flour mixed with baking powder and cinnamon, adding milk until a smooth batter forms. Fold in almonds and chocolate shavings, then gently fold in the beaten egg whites.

    Pour the batter into the pan and level the surface. Bake at 200°C (400°F) on the middle rack for about 40 minutes, checking with a toothpick. Release the springform ring and let the cake cool.
