- 125 g soft butter
- 150 g brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 200 g Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch
- 150 ml buttermilk
- 50 g rolled oats
- 100 g Soft Butter
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 100 g cream cheese
- 100 g powdered sugar
- 40 g chopped walnuts

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with upper and lower heat.

Beat the butter with the sugar until creamy, then fold in the egg. Mix the flour with the cornstarch and alternately whisk it into the batter with the buttermilk. Stir in the oats except for 2 tbsp. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, flatten slightly, and sprinkle with the remaining oats. Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the tray and let cool.

For the filling, beat the butter with the maple syrup until creamy. Fold in the cream cheese and gradually add powdered sugar until a spreadable cream forms. Mix in the walnuts. Spread the cream on half of the cookies (bottom side) and gently press another cookie onto it.
