White Wine Pears

Ingredients

  • 100 g sugar
  • 200 ml apple juice
  • 400 ml dry white wine
  • 1 lemon (juice)
  • 1 Vanilla bean
  • 1 star anise
  • 0.5 cinnamon stick
  • 4 pears

Instructions

    Caramelize the sugar in a pot until lightly golden. Deglaze with the apple juice and white wine. Add the lemon juice, split vanilla bean, star anise, and cinnamon stick; bring to a boil.

    Peel the pears, remove the core while leaving the stem intact, and place them in the simmering liquid. Bring to a boil again, then reduce heat and let simmer gently for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, cover, and allow to cool. Lift the pears from the liquid and serve.
