Ingredients
- 4 large ripe pears
- juice of 1 lemon
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 500 ml white wine
- fine sponge cake (biscuit)
- Mint leaves
Instructions

Wash, peel, and drizzle pears with lemon juice.

Dissolve sugar in a little water and simmer gently for 5 minutes. Add wine and pears, cover, and steam until pears are tender, about 15 minutes.

Remove pears from the liquid and arrange on plates.

Reduce the wine liquid to a syrupy consistency and pour over the pears before serving.
