Ingredients

  • 50 ml oil
  • 300 ml milk
  • 600 g wheat flour (Type 550)
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp wheat gluten
  • 42 g yeast (1 cube)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Crush the yeast and dissolve it in 2 tbsp lukewarm milk. Add the remaining milk and mix with the yeast and salt. Stir in the wheat flour, oil, and wheat gluten.

  2. 2.

Process everything into a smooth dough. Shape the dough into a ball and let it rise covered with a damp cloth in a warm place for 3 hours.

  3. 3.

Knead the dough briefly again. Grease the loaf pan and dust it with flour. Pour in the dough and smooth the surface. Let the bread rise covered in a warm place for another 30 minutes.

  4. 4.

Preheat the oven to 220°C. Place a heat‑proof dish of boiling water inside. Bake the bread on the lower rack, fan mode at 200°C, for 50 minutes, then remove and quickly brush with water. Return the bread to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes.

  5. 5.

Release the bread from the pan, transfer it onto a cooling rack, and let it cool.
