Warm Pear with Meringue Cap

- butter (for the pan)
- 2 small pears
- 1 EL lemon juice
- 1 EL brown sugar
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 2 EL Butter
- 2 egg whites
- 40 g powdered sugar
- 2 EL coconut flakes

Preheat the oven to 200°C with upper and lower heat. Grease a baking dish (or four ramekins) with butter. Wash the pears, halve them and remove the core. Brush the cut surfaces with lemon juice and place the pears in the dish(es). In a pot combine sugar, cinnamon, and butter; melt over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Brush the pears with this mixture and bake in the oven for about 15 minutes until slightly soft.

Meanwhile beat the egg whites to stiff peaks. Gradually add powdered sugar while continuing to beat until glossy and firm peaks form. Fold in coconut flakes.

Remove the pears from the oven and spread the meringue over them. Bake again for another 5-10 minutes until the meringue turns light brown. Serve warm.
