Walnut Chocolate Strudel

Ingredients

  • 300 g strudel dough (refrigerated section)
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 100 g Sour cream
  • 300 g dark chocolate couverture
  • 300 g walnut kernels
  • 30 g butter (2 tbsp)

Instructions

    Spread the strudel dough on a work surface.

    Separate the eggs; use the whites elsewhere. Whisk the sour cream with the egg yolks until smooth. Finely chop the chocolate and roughly chop the walnuts. Mix both into the cream, then spread onto the dough, leaving about 2 cm of border.

    Roll the dough from the long side, brush the top edge with water, fold in the ends and press firmly. Place the strudel seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

    Melt butter in a pot and brush the strudel with it. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (180 °C fan; gas: level 3) for about 40 minutes until golden brown.
